04-09-21: Ok! We are just getting going here on GregWelch.com with our 2004 Kona Special. You can expect Greg to provide you with some unique insight into the race, the Hawaii Ironman. Looking at the players, the contenders and pretenders, some gossip, rumors and some inside scoops.

S04-09-27: Some exciting changes for this years Hawaii Ironman. The most significant will be the pro's starting at 6:45 AM, some 15 minutes before the age groupers. This will show case the pro race, and allow the women's race not to be as caught up with some of the faster age groupers. In addition, the prize money will be richer from second on down. Last year the winners won 100 grand and second received 30 g's. This year the runner up will be bumped up to 50. That's a bunch of beer money.

04-09-21: Aussie Craig Walton, who qualified for Kona at the U.K. Half IM will not be starting Kona this year. He would have been a genuine threat, as he is at any race he starts. No word as to the reason for the "No Start" but this young gun has a a lot years left for a  Kona first start. Looking forward to that.

04-09-21: Greg looks at the course that has been the venue that has made legends out of some... broke others; a place for those to fulfill a dream. More importantly, it is center stage for triathlons most coveted crown jewel... the Hawaii Ironman. Read More>>
